A great commitment to the Great Commandment and the Great Commission grows a great church.

Pastors and Staff

Pastor Daniel Son
danielson@kacbc.org
  Education:
  • Undergraduate: Wheaton College.
  • Masters of Divinity: Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary.

Pastor Daniel Son grew up as a "pastor's kid" in Queens, New York, although true saving faith did not come until the summer of his 8th grade. He remembers vividly experiencing both the guilt of his sins and the joy of Christ's forgiveness.

He attended Wheaton College ('97), in Illinois, majoring in Bible/Theology and minoring in Political Science. After college, he enrolled in Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in Massachusetts, graduating with an MDiv (Masters of Divinity) in the spring of 2000. Those experiences helped shape and prepare him for the task of serving Christ's church. He considers it an incredible privilege to serve Christ's Body as a pastor.

He has a passion to see the church be a faithful witness of the cross of Christ. He shares his vision in this way; "When the church functions in a biblical way, it not only faithfully proclaims the gospel, but lives out the gospel in such a visible way that the world is drawn to the cross. My passion and vision is to help grow KAC into a biblical community that proclaims and lives out the gospel in every arena of life, from our worship gatherings, to our fellowship meetings, from our family lives, to our workplaces, from our relationships with fellow believers, to our relationships with those who do not yet know our Lord Jesus. My hope is that we'll be a church committed to the Great Commission, to go and make true disciples in this world, as we obey the Great Commandment, to love Him with all our being and others as we love ourselves. And all of it for the glory and praise of our God!"

Assistant Pastor Kevin Shin
kevinshin@kacbc.org
  Education:
  • Undergraduate: University of Hawaii.
  • Master of Science: University of Washington.

Pastor Kevin Shin has been with KAC from its very beginnings. He is an integral part of the history and the future of KAC. He accepted Christ as his personal savior in the fall of 1987, realizing who Jesus Christ really is after years of searching, and debating.

Since his coming to faith in Jesus, he has had a passion to serve Him and the church. After much prayer, he felt God leading him to serve as a bi-vocational pastor in the Education Ministry. He began this part of his calling in 1997, when he was voted in as an assistant pastor. He has been serving in that role ever since, specializing in Children's Ministry. He also desires to help develop the growing Youth Ministry of KAC.

He has attended Northwest Baptist Seminary, and he hopes to have the opportunity to be able to complete his education there.

Youth Ministry Director:
Drew Brown

  Education:
  • Undergraduate: Cedarville University.
  • Masters of Divinity: Northwest Baptist Seminary (in progress).

Youth Ministry Director Drew Brown realized his need for Jesus Christ during a summer Bible camp when he was in 6th grade. Although he was raised in a church all his life, he wasn't aware until then that he was a lost sinner in need of a Savior. His passion for Christ and His Word was ignited in early high school, after having been given a little Bible Promise Book with Scriptures in it. It was then that He truly tasted the goodness of the Word and longed "for the pure spiritual milk" (1 Peter 2:2) and to grow up in his salvation. He owes an incredible debt to his church and youth pastor, who showed him by their example to always be faithful to Jesus Christ in His Word.

Throughout college, Drew spent his time learning how to better teach and understand the Scriptures. He majored in Education and minored in Bible and Greek. He spent his summers traveling to Germany and Brazil to teach in Bible camps and help spread the gospel. After a 3 month teaching experience in South Korea, Drew realized his love and passion for Korean youth. He wanted to continue working with Korean youth, which is what led him to seek KAC's youth ministry position. He is incredible grateful to God to be able to serve the church and the youth in this way, and considers it a privilege.

He loves spending time with the youth, and desires that each of them would grow up to be mature followers of the Lord Jesus Christ. He wants them to be ready to take on leadership roles in the church as they grow. He is passionate about confronting the culture with Biblical truth and training the youth to do the same.

In his free time he enjoys spending time with his wife, Michele, being outdoors, blogging, and apologetics.
